Apostles’ Soccer Camp 2008 “Jesus Saves!”

WHEN: Monday June 23 through Friday June 27, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Millice Park (Located at the corner of 29th St. W and Central Ave. )

WHO: Children ages 4-13.

This soccer camp is going to be a real soccer camp in which we learn, practice and improve our individual skills, teamwork, and knowledge of the game of soccer. It will be appropriate for anyone from beginners to those with experience. Along with daily treats and refreshments, all the participants will be given REAL soccer jerseys and water bottles to use during camp and to keep as souvenirs of their experience. We ask that you send us your children’s shirt sizes.

The camp’s theme this year is “Jesus Saves!” Being a Bible-teaching church, we also again plan to share the message of God’s love with the children who participate. This camp serves as a sort of vacation Bible school as well. Besides helping them pass and dribble better, we plan on sharing with them the amazing way that God showed his love to us by sending Jesus to give us real life! We will be using soccer to show many parallels between that game and the important game of life with God.

The cost will be $25 per child, and $15 for any brothers or sisters of the first child at full price. However, we don’t want anyone to be excluded because of the cost! If the price prohibits your children from coming, give me a call and we will find a way for them to come.

Don’t delay! The deadline for applications is May 23! Applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. The sooner the better so we can get their shirt sizes for the jerseys! Each child must bring their own shin guards (mandatory) and soccer shoes (not mandatory).

WEATHER POLICY It is important for you to include your email address so that you can check your email for cancellations due to weather! (We will email any cancellations by noon each day.)

In the event of rainy weather, we will continue to run the camp. The camp participants are invited to keep participating as long as they are comfortable doing so.

In the event of LIGHTNING & THUNDER, we will move the camp participants to the entrance overhang of Meadowlark School until they can be picked up by parents or guardians, or until the weather passes and it is deemed safe to play again.

If the weather is uncooperative (all-day downpour or lighting, thunder, etc) before the day’s camp even begins, we will cancel the day’s activities before the children get dropped off. THE BEST WAY to find out if the Soccer Camp is cancelled for the day is to check your email for a cancellation announcement. Let us know if you don’t have the use of a computer and we can give you a phone call.

Email Announcement to look for (example): Day: Monday, June 23 SOCCER CAMP IS “CANCELLED” TODAY! It is lightning and thundering, and would not be safe to drop your children off at the park today. See you there tomorrow!

Online Registration

Kids must be age 4-13. They are responsible to bring their own soccer shoes, shin guards (mandatory!), and sunscreen (recommended!). We are providing soccer jerseys, water bottles, and daily snacks. To cover expenses, there is a $25 fee for the first child and $15 for each brother or sister. Checks can be made out to "Apostles". Registrations will be processed in the order they are received. NOTICE OF WARNING: There is a potential risk in training and participating in any sport, and we have tried to create a safe environment. The coaches have established rules for participation, and proper conduct on or about the playing field must be followed. AGREEMENT: I have read and understand the policies and the risk involved. I hereby agree that my children will follow all the rules for good order and safety during this camp. I agree and understand that neither Apostles Lutheran Church nor any of the volunteers are liable for any injuries received while participating or playing in the activity for which I am registering, or for the loss or damage to equipment. I agree that I shall make no claim and bring no action, suit, or proceeding for any and all damages, losses, liabilities, or cost in any manner suffered or incurred as a result of my participating in the activity for which I am registering, and I hereby release Apostles Lutheran Church and its officers, directors, and pastors, the City of Billings, and the Billings Park and Rec. Board from any and all damages, liabilies, or costs in this regard.
